CPTED and the Global South

The International CPTED Association (ICA) brings you a discussion on the application of CPTED to the often economically disadvantaged and culturally diverse context of the Global South. Three ICA directors will share their experiences and discuss their CPTED work in countries of the Global South.

CPTED is an established crime and violence prevention approach in many developed countries. However, it is not as well-known and commonly used in the Global South. In the instances where CPTED has been studied and implemented, conventional practices and applications have often been re-interpreted and adapted to the challenging contexts of developing countries.
