EUCPN Webinar: public-private partnerships to prevent domestic burglary
Public-private partnerships (PPPs) are arrangements between public and private actors, within which they collaborate towards a common goal. PPPs are becoming more prevalent within society, partly because they can take on various forms depending on the topic, objectives and level of engagement of the partners. Yet due to this variety in partnerships, the creation and continuation of PPPs are associated with a number of challenges. An effective PPP takes the form of a durable collaboration in which all partners take on specific tasks to achieving shared and durable goals.
This webinar will focus on the key messages regarding the implementation of PPPs in the field of crime prevention. The Netherlands will introduced the Dutch Police Quality Mark (PQM). The quality mark can be applied to existing houses, new buildings, and public spaces, ensuring compliance with requirements related to lighting, visibility, and the security of windows, doors and skylights. Research has shown that houses with a PQM are targeted less by burglars.
The webinar will take place on Thursday, 24 April 2025, between 14:00 and 15:00 CET. Participation is free, but registration is mandatory.
