Mr. Wolfgang Theis, KfW

Born 1952 in Greifswald, Germany. Long-term experience in planning, implementation and management of programmes funded under German technical and financial cooperation. Since 1993 Programme Manager for KfW, since 1999 in the Africa Department. Responsible for programmes funded under German financial cooperation, in particular regarding contract management, progress in implementation, budget, timeline, outcomes achieved. In charge of VPUU since 2011. Assigned with conceptualisation of new, similar programmes in South Africa and other African countries.

Mr. Michael Krause, VPUU Team Leader

Born 1970 in Erlabrunn, Germany. Diploma in Urban Design from Bauhaus University of Weimar. Since 1995 urban designer for integrated upgrading of informal settlements in South Africa. Mediation in latent political-violent environments. Worked for DED and InWEnt in the field of SMME Skills Development. Since March 2006 AHT GROUP AG team leader for VPUU in Khayelitsha.

Mr. Udo Lange, AHT Project Manager for VPUU

Born 1959 in Essen, Germany. 1986 diploma in Urban and Regional Planning, University of Dortmund, Germany. 1992 Project Manager for GTZ in Brasilia, and Porto Alegre PRORENDA Urbano urban upgrading project of informal settlements 1995 to 1999. Since 2000 Project Manager at AHT GROUP AG, Essen. Project Manager and backstopper for VPUU since the Feasibility Study for VPUU in 2002. Support to the Monitoring and Evaluation framework of VPUU.
