Representative of Uniformed police directorate will present national prevention projects and prevention projects of Police departments. Within national projects there are projects such as “School police officer”, “The basics of child safety” etc.
“School police officer”
Preventive action is aimed at preventing occurrences and events that may endanger the safety of students and schools, and the recognizable activity is the engagement of uniformed police officers in the districts, which include the immediate environment of the so-called “school police officers”.
The primary task of the so-called “school cops” is to influence potential offenders by their presence in the school environment, in terms of proactively discouraging them from engaging in acts that have elements of a misdemeanor or felony.
“The basics of child safety”
The most important educational activities are the program “Fundamentals of Child Safety”, which has been implemented since September 1, 2017 and is intended for the education of students of 4th and 6th grade of primary schools, on the topics: “Safety of children in traffic”; “Police in the Service of Citizens”; “Violence as a negative social phenomenon”; “Prevention and Protection of Children from Drug and Alcohol Abuse”; “Safe use of the Internet and social networks”; “Prevention and Protection of Children from Trafficking in Human Beings” etc.
