International Crime Prevention Through Environmental Design Association (ICA)

The International CPTED Association - ICA is an international non-profit association founded in Calgary, Canada in 1996. For over 25 years the ICA has been promoting the use of CPTED globally and supporting local organizations, practitioners and communities that utilise CPTED principles to create safer communities and environments. The ICA is the only international non-profit association advocating for the use of CPTED.

The ICA currently has over 370 members from over 30 countries. The ICA is represented by 15 Board Directors who come from all 6 major continents. Since adopting its ICA Umbrella Initiative in 2020 the ICA has welcomed to its family 10 chapters represented by local organisations with the purpose of promoting close collaborations and advance the awareness and knowledge of CPTED across the globe.

With its international conferences, webinars, newsletters and other initiatives the ICA has been providing platforms for exchanging knowledge. It also offers Professional CPTED Certification Program for Individuals (ICCP) and Course Accreditation Program (CAP) with the purpose of professionalising the field of CPTED by setting the minimum standards for proficient and competent CPTED practice.
