UN Summit of the Future

Rapid advances in technology and science hold the promise of a better, more peaceful and prosperous future for people and the planet. Yet, in our interconnected and fast-changing world, we are not keeping pace with emerging risks and opportunities. At the same time, we are grappling with multiple conflicts and escalating geopolitical tensions, rising inequality and mistrust, stalled progress on the Sustainable Development Goals, and a climate emergency. As a global community, we face a pivotal choice.

The Summit of the Future (22-23 Sep.) will produce an inter-governmentally negotiated, action-oriented Pact for the Future with chapters on Sustainable development and financing for development; International peace and security; Science, technology and innovation and digital cooperation; Youth and future generations; and Transforming global governance.
